In 2010 I was suddenly called by Federico Zampaglione, who had resumed the National guitar and wanted to to make some blues. After some practice we formed the “Buzz”, with DaniloBigioni on bass and Roberto Ferrante on drums, and then Federico’s brother Francesco joined us, playing guitars and keyboards.We have played in clubs, theatres and festivals like Jazz Image and the Pistoia Blues Festival,and currently we’re working as duo, smocking dressed playing acoustic blues. In 2013 I have also played piano on four tracks of the record “Indaginesu un sentimento”, from Tiromancino.
In 2011 thanks to the my unforgettable friend GiampieroRubei me and Giò carried the choir experience into the House of Jazz in Rome, with the name of World Spirit Orchestra, the name that still has.
We have been almost three years in this context, producing theatre-musical shows like “Black History”, with Linda Valori as special guest, concerts in theatres and clubs. Then we were noticed by NeriMarcorè who has involved all the choir in its innovative tv show “Neripoppins”, using it like theatre-musical instrument for his funny sketches wher he was a preacher-crook, as well as with Mario Biondi, Lillo, VinicioCapossela.
Afterwards the choir maintained its musical-theatre vocation, participating to various intense and high quality activities like “Worksong”, of the Hungarian multimedia artist Hajnal Nemeth, at the Valle Theatre in 2014, and W.A.M, in the same year at Teatro Studio Uno, with Claudio Boccaccini as director. In the 2015 with the World SpiritOrchestra we have set up a choral version of “Porgy and Bess”, the masterpiece of George Gershwin, thanks to the help for the agreements of the great Riccardo Biseo, one of the finest arrangers and pianists of Italian jazz.
The activity of the choir and its artistic evolution in these years has been a remarkable job from me and GiòBosco, that it is supported by professionals like Angelo Cascarano, Isabella Del Principe and Andrea Mercadante, as well as from the people that have grown with us promoting an artistic dimension not too much commercial than we have in Italy, where it’s almost about soloists. The choir is a metaphor of that communitarian dimension, mutual acceptance and interaction among various generations and human kinds and together expresses the emotion and musical strength of the voices. Also in Perugia, thanks to our friend Crystal White who returning to America has passed me the responsability since few years I have had the honor and the chance to work with another choir, the Trasimeno Gospel Choir. Strongly based on his own territory and active in several churches, festivals and associations. This choir is born with a strong root traditional but refreshed with the modern agreements of Crystal.I gave my contribution to intensify the repertoire and, by following my professional philosophy of the “modern choir”, not stucked into traditional gospel, I have produced various performances like the show “Vocal Night”, a guided kind of jam with the choir accompanying the singers playing famous backgrounds choirs masterpieces like the Beatles, Queen, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, etc
